Quality & Environment

Environmental Consciousness
At FoldedColor, we are continually focusing on how we can be more environmentally conscious. One of the ways that we do this is by utilizing wind power in our everyday operations. We annually purchase renewable energy credits (RECs) to offset the energy we consume. Wind power is a renewable resource that does not contribute any pollution to the environment. We also use vegetable-based inks in our printing process.

One of the best things that we can do for the environment is to recycle. FoldedColor recycles 100% of all of our oils, paper scraps, and plating materials. Reducing our carbon footprint is one of the things that FoldedColor is committed to, so that we can ensure a better future for everyone.

SFI Certified
What is SFI certification and why is it beneficial to our environment?

SFI is an acronym for the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. This organization is “…dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management. We work with conservation groups, local communities, resource professionals, landowners, and countless other organizations and individuals who share our passion for responsible forest management.” What this translates to is the protection of our environment by preventing long-term deforestation. With the exception of our digitally printed options and specialty stocks, FoldedColor strictly prints on SFI certified paperboard.

Although we print on SFI certified paperboard, SFI regulations require strict chain of custody oversight in order to print an SFI claim or logo on packaging. If you are interested in printing an SFI logo or claim on your packaging, you must contact a FoldedColor customer service representative for a custom quote. Any other uses are strictly prohibited under SFI standards and regulations.
